Suspense in horror video games
Suspense in horror/thriller games is used to build fear in the user (or the "player") much like film, or literature; but still keeps the player interested in finishing the game. The use of suspense contributes to many different games and subgenres within the horror video game world, and uses different techniques on creating suspense. This use of suspense affects the player's experience with the game as a whole; including what works in scaring the player, and why the player keeps coming back to play horror genre games.
